(I worried a virtual terminal would be terminated sometime after disconnect, and also dislike the inefficiency of having one session basically just for Terminal and a separate session for Handbrake.) So I recently switched it over to Ubuntu 19.10. It had been running Xubuntu and booted headless to the desktop just fine, Transmission autolaunched like a champ, but I couldn't do screen mirroring for Handbrake. It's a weird use case, I admit, but I have a Linux Plex server that also runs Transmission for BitTorrent and I want to be able to run Handbrake for ripping new DVDs. ![]() Tl dr: How do I get headless Ubuntu to stop "helpfully" not booting to a desktop? ![]()
